Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy (2008)

El nuevo disco de Guns N'Roses finalmente llega al mercado este fin de semana en Estados Unidos y volverá a poner a prueba a este grupo de rock con sus seguidores, que han esperado 12 años porque su líder Axl Rose presente esta novedad."Chinese Democracy", es el primer disco con canciones originales después del doble album "Use your Illusion" en 1991. Rose, de 46 años y único miembro que queda de la banda original que debutó en 1985, comenzó a grabar este trabajo en 1994."Chinese Democracy" está condenado a ser excepcional en vista del tiempo y el dinero que se han invertido en él: se utilizaron 14 estudios para registrar estas 14 canciones. En 2005, el diario New York Times lo calificó como "el álbum más caro en su proceso de grabación", estimando su presupuesto en 13 millones de dólares.

Snow Patrol - A Hundred Million Suns (2008)

Una de las bandas más relevantes de los últimos años regresan al panorama musical con un nuevo disco (el quinto) llamado A hundred million suns que se publicará el 27 de octubre. La banda escocesa Snow Patrol lleva en activo desde 1994 pero fue en 2006 cuando consiguieron el reconocimiento internacional con su anterior disco Eyes open. La canción de cierre, Daybreak, dura 16 minutos y es el tema más largo que han hecho nunca.

Dark New Day -Twelve Year Silence (2005)

La banda se formó originalmente en 1995 por cinco personas: Brett Hestla de Virgos Merlot, Troy McLawhorn de Doubledrive, Clint Lowery de Sevendust, Corey Lowery de Stereomud, Bloqueo Mojo, y Will Hunt de Skrape, sin embargo no fue hasta 2005 que lanzaron su primer álbum debido a las ocupaciones con otras bandas. Dark New Day es considerada una especie de supergrupo debido al hecho de que los cinco miembros han pasado tiempo en el nu metal y el Hard Rock de diversos grupos de éxito.

Discografia de Atreyu

Atreyu es una banda de metalcore. Originaria del Condado de Orange, California, Estados Unidos. Tiene como integrantes a Alex Varkatzas (vocales), Dan Jacobs y Travis Miguel(guitarra), Marc McKnight (bajo) y a Brandon Saller (baterista vocalista). En su sitio web la banda señala que su estilo esta muy influenciado por el Thrash Metal de los años 80's. En un principio la banda fue llamada "Retribution" y luego fue cambiada a "Atreyu" debido al nombre de uno de los personajes de la novela de Michael Ende, La historia sin fin.

Discografia de Muse (2008)

MUSE es una banda inglesa de rock alternativo, originaria de Teignmouth, Devon. Está compuesta por Matthew Bellamy (compositor, voz, guitarra, teclado y piano); Christopher Wolstenholme (bajo eléctrico, teclados y coros) y Dominic Howard (batería y percusión). Tras el lanzamiento de su cuarto álbum, Morgan Nicholls asiste a la banda durante los conciertos, haciéndose cargo de teclados, samples y de algunos coros. Su idiosincrático estilo es una mezcla de indie rock y rock alternativo, con ciertos detalles electrónicos y con influencia de compositores clásicos, especialmente, aquellos de la era romántica, tales como Sergei Rachmaninov. Raconteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely (2008)

The Raconteurs es una banda estadounidense, conformada por músicos como Patrick Keeler y Jack Lawrence de “The Greenhornes”, el conocido Jack White de “The White Stripes”, Brendan Benson y un músico ocasional Dean Fertit. Draconian - Turning Season Within (2008)

Draconian es una banda de doom metal con influencias del metal gótico procedente de Suecia que hoy nos trae su cuarto trabajo. El inicio de Draconian se puede remontar a mayo de 1994, cuando Johan Ericson (baterista, vocal), Andy Hindenäs (guitarrista) y Jesper Stolpe (bajo, vocal) unieron fuerzas para crear Kerberos, un conjunto de Doom Metal Melódico con influencias del Black Metal. Siete meses después, el vocalista y poeta Anders Jacobsson se unió a la banda, quien entonces cambió su nombre al cuál es hoy.

Queen & Paul Rodgers - The Cosmos Rocks (2008)

Estamos frente a un disco de rock moderno, con grandes canciones que van desde rítmicos trallazos de pura energía, hasta melodías acústicas que hablan del arte compositor de este trío, obviamente por estar Taylor y May en todo este proceso muchos detalles recuerdan el sonido de la reina, pero para nada es un disco hecho con la intención de sonar a Queen. El primer detalle importante sobre este trabajo viene en forma de aclaratoria, “The cosmos rocks”, no es un disco de Queen, Paul Rodgers no pretende sustituir al insustituible Freddie Mercury, John Deacon está retirado de la música y esto no es mas que un proyecto de tres tipos que comenzaron en 2004 con una gira que no estaba planificada para mas de diez fechas y terminó siendo una de las mas exitosas de aquellos momentos.

Anathema - Hindsight (2008)

Scar Symmetry - Hollographic Universe (2008)

Scar Symmetry es un grupo de death metal melódico de origen sueco. Formado en abril de 2004.Por fin llega a nuestras manos el tercer y esperado trabajo, titulado Holographic Universe. Muchos nos sorprendimos por la facilidad de Christian Älvestam para cambiar de registro vocal, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que de su registro más grave y gutural hasta el más melódico, agudo y limpio hay un trecho importante. No es ni mucho menos el único vocalista con una especial predilección por irse de un lado a otro del espectro vocal, pero el caso de Älvestam es especialmente remarcable.

Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul (2008)

Los hermanos Gallagher han anunciado en su web oficial el lanzamiento del séptimo álbum de estudio de Oasis, 'Dig out your soul', que saldrá a la venta el próximo 6 de octubre y para el que contarán con el mismo productor que en su anterior trabajo, Dave Sardy. En 'Dig out your soul' se confirma la incorporación de Zak Starkey, hijo del beatle Ringo Starr, como batería oficial del grupo, tras la marcha de Alan White. El álbum ha sido grabado en los estudios Abbey Road de Londres.

Album del año 1985 remasterizado ahora de esta banda de rock psicodelico y progresivo liderada por Alan Parsons quien tambien fue ingeniero de sonido de grandes bandas como por ejemplo los Beatles y Pink Floyd.
